Structured "Pilgrimage" improvisation

Dear Ones,

Hello and welcome to the Oboe Brilliance weekly blog, posted early in the week.

This week invites you to spice up your oboe practice with a structured improvisation I call the "Pilgrimage improvisation".

1) select a general length of time which you wish to play an improvisation
2) start out with long tones interrupted occasionallywith shorter notes
3) gradually decrease long tones and increase speed of rhythm
4) wind down with gradually increasing long tones interrupted with very fast delicate runs

Repeat daily for a month and enjoy.

Have fun,
K. Potter
